STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A suspect is under arrest after being accused of shooting at a pair of Plain Township homes, according to the Stark County Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of 42nd Street NW and Sandborn Avenue NW. When deputies arrived, they discovered that two residences near the intersection had been struck by gunfire.
After an initial investigation, deputies identified 18-year-old Gavin Anthony as a suspect in the shooting. He was arrested a short time later and charged with several felony weapon charges, plus receiving stolen property.
"The safety and security of every resident in Stark County is our top priority. We are committed to working with our safety partners in the county to remove violent criminals from our neighborhoods to ensure our community remains a safe place for everyone to live, work, and thrive,” said Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier in a release.
The incident remains under investigation. The Stark County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information on the shooting to contact them at 330-430-3800.
