CLEVELAND — New on 3, get the latest information on what's happening and impacting you across Northeast Ohio on Friday, September 17, 2021, on 3News Now with Stephanie Haney.

In Hudson, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh has confirmed that fictional writing prompts don't amount to 'child porn,' after the mayor has called for school board members to resign over mature writing prompts included but not assigned in a college-level senior English class.

As Ohio reports close to 8,500 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Cleveland Browns have announced they will not required proof of a COVID vaccine or mandate mask wearing at FirstEnergy Stadium, though it is strongly recommended indoors for everyone and and outdoors for unvaccinated people.

With the Browns' season home opener against the Houston Texans on Sunday, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. has been placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, and new additions to the stadium include priority access for facial recognition entry and 'Sauce the City' with its own food stand on the Club Level.

Plus, Swenson's is expanding yet again Northeast Ohio, and 37 new emojis will make their debut later this year.
