CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — The Summit County Metro crash team is investigating a crash that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man Wednesday.
Officials responded to Route 8 near 2nd Street for reports of an accident, just before 11:30 p.m. The crash involved multiple cars and a tractor trailer.
The driver has been identified as Tyler Williams of Akron. It is unknown at this time what factors led to the crash.
The driver of a second car was trapped and had to be extricated by the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department. They were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. There is no word on their condition at this time.
As a result of the crash, Route 8 was closed overnight, but is expected to re-open by 7 a.m.
