AKRON, Ohio — A 23-year-old man was found dead inside a vehicle in Akron on Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Noble Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, Akron Police discovered a 23-year-old unresponsive victim inside a car with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Based on initial investigations, Akron Police believe an unknown suspect fired multiple shots into the vehicle, which struck the victim. The suspect allegedly fled the scene following the shooting.
At the scene, Akron Police recovered shell casings as well as other evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and "detectives are working diligently to identify the person or persons responsible for this senseless tragedy," according to Akron Police.
