AKRON, Ohio — A 25-year-old man was found guilty in the death of an Akron pizza shop worker Wednesday in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
Shaquille Anderson pleaded "no contest" and was found guilty of the following charges in the shooting death of 21-year-old Zakareia Husein.
- Aggravated Murder with Repeat Violent Offender, Violent Career Criminal, and Gun Specifications – a Special Felony
- Murder with Repeat Violent Offender, Violent Career Criminal, and Gun Specifications – a Special Felony
- Aggravated Robbery with Repeat Violent Offender, Violent Career Criminal, and Gun Specifications – a felony of the 1st degree
- Having a Weapon Under Disability – a felony of the 3rd degree
In December 2015, Zakareia Husein was working at his family's business the night he was fatally shot. A gunman entered, Premium New York Style Pizza in the 300 block of Glenwood Avenue, and demanded money before fatally shooting Husein.
After receiving several tips from the community, officials were able to identify Anderson as the suspect.
Anderson is currently serving a 21 year prison sentence for several Akron area robberies. While in prison, he confessed to shooting Zak Husein.
He is scheduled to sentenced March 17 at 2pm.
