A  30-year-old man was sentenced to ten years in prison Wednesday for his involvement in an Akron Shooting.

Charles Shinn appeared before Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones after pleading guilty to felonious assault with firearm specification back in May.

In December 2017, Shinn was at Akron Park Place Lounge with several people when he got into a fight with a 41-year-old man. Following the fight, Shinn left and retrieved a gun from his apartment. He returned to the bar and fired several shots at the victim as he ran away. The victim's injuries left him paralyzed from the waist down.

The assault weapon, a .45 caliber pistol, was recovered from Shinn's apartment on Aster Avenue.
