Akron man sentenced to 14 years in prison for setting ex-girlfriend's home on fire

AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man was sentenced to 14 years in prison after setting the home of his ex-girlfriend on fire in February. 

31-year-old Jauvaugh Penn was sentenced to eight years for aggravated arson and six years for burglary in Summit County Common Pleas Court, Monday. 

Penn was found guilty of the crimes during a jury trial last month. 

He will also have to register as an arson offender for the rest of his life.
