Troopers say the single-vehicle crash happened at approximately 10:50 p.m. on Interstate 77 northbound, just south of Ghent Road in Bath Township. The driver of the 1995 Honda Civic apparently lost control of the vehicle, which went off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, then overturned several times.

One of the car's occupants was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Cleveland Clinic-Akron General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The other occupant of the Civic was not ejected and sustained minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says both vehicle occupants are juveniles and are not releasing their names at the present time. The crash remains under investigation.

OSP troopers were assisted on scene by officers from the Bath Township Police and Fire Departments and Richfield Township Fire Department.
