MACEDONIA, — The City of Macedonia has announced that the Cinemark movie theater will be closing its doors, but don't worry, a new theater is set to come into the existing location.
According to a Facebook post from city officials, B&B Theatres will be investing $6-7 million into the existing Cinemark building located in the Macedonia Commons.
“Our family-owned, privately-held company is thrilled to join the Macedonia market…it is a beautiful community that feels like a B&B kind of town. We love what we do and can’t wait to bring the Magic of the Movies to the area,” said Bob Bagby, President and CEO of B&B Theatres.
The new theater will bring audiences in Macedonia an upgraded theater experience. New additions to the theater will include the following:
- Installation of heated, electric recliners in every auditorium
- A full bar will be installed, allowing guests of age (with a valid photo ID!) to enjoy wine, beer, or cocktails which can be taken anywhere in the building
- Made-to-order, extended Food-to-Go menu featuring popcorn, hot dogs, and nachos can be enjoyed alongside burgers, fries, chicken tenders and flatbread pizzas
According to its website, B&B Theatres is the fifth-largest theatre chain in America. The company has 525 screens at 56 locations across 14 states.
B&B Theatres told 3News that they will take over ownership on March 1, 2024.
Officials say that a timeline for the project has not yet been announced.
