26-year-old man dies following Summit County shooting

The shooting happened Thursday night on Ostend Avenue in Coventry Township.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in Coventry Township.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office says that the shooting happened at around 9 p.m. on Ostend Avenue. 

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found a 26-year-old man, who had crashed his vehicle, with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where he died at 9:38 p.m. 

The victim has since been identified as Thaddeus Nutt.

Summit County Sheriff's Detectives determined that there had been an altercation between two males, which allegedly led to the shooting.

At this time, the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office and the Summit County Sheriff's Office are continuing to investigate the shooting.
