Hard Rock Rocksino to become MGM Northfield Park in April

Last year, MGM agreed to purchase the Hard Rock Rocksino for more than $1 billion.

It's been nearly a year since MGM Resorts International announced its agreement to purchase the Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield Park for more than $1 billion.

We now know what the future holds for the casino.

At a pep rally for Rocksino employees on Wednesday, it was revealed that the the property will transform into MGM Northfield Park upon the completion of the deal in April. Additionally, MGM executives shared the entity's new logo, which features MGM's signature golden lion.

“MGM Resorts is proud to work alongside the 950 dedicated employees during this transition. MGM Northfield Park is situated in a great location within a vibrant community and offers wonderful amenities - from dining and entertainment venues to gaming, harness racing and retail options” said Chris Kelley, President, MGM Northfield Park. “Through the dedication and hard work of this team, the Rocksino and harness track have established themselves as market leaders and we are excited to begin this new journey together.”

MGM also announced the re-branding of several food and beverage options, including the TAP Sports Bar, which is currently the Hard Rock Cafe. The Fresh Harvest Buffet will become simply "The Buffet," while bistro the Constant Grind will become "The Roasted Bean" and the Center Bar will become the "Center Bar and Lounge."

Furthermore, the concert style music hall known as Hard Rock Live will transform to "Center Stage" and Club Velvet will become "The Neon Room."

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with the Hard Rock team during this transition," Kelly said. "They have created a successful and special destination with a terrific team and they have our commitment that we will uphold the high standards they have set.”
