BARBERTON, Ohio — A 64-year-old man is dead following a house fire in Barberton early Friday morning.
According to officials, the blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. at a two-story structure on 1st Street Northwest. When firefighters arrived, multiple people had already exited the building, two additional people needed to be rescued.

One person was rescued from the front porch, while John Davis was taken from the second story and rushed to Barberton Citizen's Hospital. Unfortunately, he died there from his injuries at 4:45 a.m.
Officials are still unsure about what caused the fire. The incident is under investigation.
