Springfield Township police search for suspect who threw 'explosive device' at house

Police say someone threw a rock through the window of the same house a few weeks ago.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Springfield Township police are investigating an incident where a suspect threw an "explosive device" at a house.

According to a post on the Springfield Township Police Department's Facebook page, the incident happened in the 3000 block of Avis Road in the Springhill neighborhood.

The device was thrown into the yard of the house, but no damage was done to the house itself.

Police say the same house was targeted by a man "a few weeks ago" where a rock was thrown through a window. They did not elaborate further as to whether the incidents were related or share the same suspect.

They ask anyone with information about the incident to call Detective Brian Troyer at 330-734-4106 or email btroyer@springfieldtownship.us.
