Summit County Fair officials bring back full scale event without a major price hike

“We’re full ride, full shows, and all the barns are full,” said one representative for the Summit County Fair.

TALLMADGE, Ohio — "Blue jeans and County Dreams."

That's the theme this year at the 2021 Summit County Fair.

After Ohio Gov. Mike Dewine announced earlier this year that events can go back to full capacity, corn dogs, french fries, and loads of elephant ears will be in full swing at the local event, long beloved by Northeast Ohio residents.

And while fair officials say that are confident this year's event will be as successful as ever, they also say that providing a good time at a reasonable price was a top priority.

“We needed to offer a venue for families to come to enjoy themselves and not take all the money out of their pocket,” says Summit County Fair Director of Programming, Howard Call.

Therefore, the fair board decided to not raise the price of admission.

“Things were tough, we wanted to be able to bring a family valued entertainment here, so we’ve maintained our pricing since 2019,” said Call.

A general admission ticket for the 2021 Summit County Fair costs $7, while children nine years and younger are just $3. Fair officials also say that special deals will be offered on their website throughout the week.

Although the Summit County Fair was one of the few fairs that was able to go on last year, major capacity restrictions limited the ability to create the typical fair experience, and officials were forced to cancel many of the "money-making" shows. Since restrictions have been lifted, Call says he and others are now excited to get the fair back at full capacity, and full fun.

“We’re full ride, full shows, and all the barns are full,” said Call.
