AKRON, Ohio — Summit County residents have until next Thursday to pay their real estate taxes for the first half of 2023, according to Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise.
By now, all citizens should have received a bill in the mail. If not, they can be downloaded at fiscaloffice.summitoh.net or requested by calling (330) 643-2588.
Scalise is reminding people of several options they have to submit their payments:
- In person: Drop off available at the Fiscal Office's Treasurer Division on the third floor of the Ohio Building at 175 S Main St., Akron, OH 44308. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Cash also accepted.
- Mail: Bills can be sent to the above address but must be postmarked by Feb. 29 to avoid a 10% penalty.
- Online: Go to fiscaloffice.summitoh.net/index.php/on-line-tax-payments for more information.
- Phone: Call (800) 272-9829 and follow the recorded prompts. Jurisdiction code is 4596.
- Drop box: Located on the fourth floor of the Ohio Building during normal business hours.
- Participating banks in the Regional Tax Collection System: List is included on the bill, but no cash payments are allowed and branched must be located in Summit County.
Those wishing to pay online or by phone using the e-check option will be charged a $1 flat rate service fee. The Feb. 29 deadline does not apply to members of the military, and additionally, those who need assistance or are unable to pay their bill can learn more about the Tax Installment Program by calling (330) 643-2600 before the stated date.
