SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A group of children in Summit County were delighted when deputies from the Summit County Sheriff's Office made a very important arrest: They captured the Grinch!
"We’re very alarmed to announce that a theft occurred at this morning’s Christmas With a Cop. Fortunately, an arrest was made immediately. He was a mean one," the department wrote on Facebook.
Dressed in a Santa suit, the "mean one" made his way into a cafeteria, where he was met with some determined deputies and K-9s! The kids clapped and cheered at the sight. Watch above for the fun video.
The event happened during the annual Christmas with Cop event, where the Summit County Sheriff's Office partners with other law enforcement agencies for a great cause. Officers and deputies are paired up with economically disadvantaged children to do some Christmas shopping for their families and themselves.
There is a similar event held in the summer called Carnival with a Cop. Both events help dozens of kids every single year.
We hope this year, the Grinch learned: "Maybe, Christmas, he thought ... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps ... means a little bit more."
