FAIRLAWN, Ohio — Several shoppers fled from Summit Mall Saturday afternoon after a juvenile suspect allegedly pulled a gun inside the shopping center.
According to Fairlawn police, patrons reported seeing the male flash the firearm and show it to several people, causing a "near panic." Some fled from the mall or sheltered in place, while others called security and authorities for help.
Officers searched the male and later took him into custody. Police confirmed no shots were fired and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Summit Mall reopened for business following the scare and will remain operational until 9 p.m. Saturday, per usual.
