According to the Ohio Tax Credit Authority in Columbus, it approved a 1.113 percent, six-year credit for an Amazon sorting center in Twinsburg on Tuesday.

Right now, construction is underway at the CornerStone Business Park, the redevelopment of a 165-acre site where the Chrysler Automotive Stamping Plant operated for 50 years until it closed in 2010 and was demolished.

The park, at 2000 East Aurora Road, is already seeing construction of a 248,000-square-foot facility for a so far unnamed tenant. Amazon did not reply to a request for confirmation.

But one state official in Columbus said the tax credit was for Amazon to build a facility in Twinsburg that was already under construction. The facility could easily employ between 150-300 people.

No further confirmation from either the City of Twinsburg nor Amazon could be obtained.
