CLEVELAND — Late Monday afternoon the US Marshals announced a pair of arrests made by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in connection to two separate aggravated murders.
Kenneth Woods, 29 and Sean Hoskin, 38 were both taken into custody by the US Marshals.
Woods was wanted by the East Cleveland Police Department for aggravated murder. While, Hoskin was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and domestic violence and is also wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for being a violator at large.
It is alleged that on June 24, at an address near the 14300 block of Scioto Ave, East Cleveland, Woods and Jaron Taylor, 40, got into a verbal altercation, which escalated to Woods shooting and killing Taylor.
This afternoon, members of the task force tracked Woods to a hotel in Strongsville. Woods was taken into custody without incident at the hotel and then taken to the East Cleveland Police Department for questioning.
It is alleged that on May 24, Hoskin broke into a residence near 300 block of E 162nd Street and began strangling and assaulting an ex-girlfriend, Toya Johnson, 36. Vernon Norman, 37, attempted to stop Hoskin from continuing to assault Johnson and was shot and killed by Hoskin as a result. Hoskin fled the house after the shooting before police arrived.
Task force members developed information that Hoskin fled Ohio to Indiana over the holiday weekend. US Marshals in Indiana arrested Hoskin this evening at an address near the 10700 block of Cyrus Ave., Indianapolis. Hoskin was booked into the Hendricks County Jail where he will stay pending his extradition back to Ohio.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott gave a statement on both arrests, “The effort of our task force members today demonstrated that no matter if the fugitive attempts to hide in our own back yard or flee to another state, we will find them and bring them to justice.”
