Local Verizon customers are reporting issues when calling landlines, according to the Avon Lake Police Department.

Attempts to call landline numbers result in a voice prompt that says, "All circuits are busy, please try your call again later." The issue was first reported around 2:30 a.m.

Anyone needing to make an emergency call should dial 9-1-1. Those needing to reach their local police or fire departments should also call 9-1-1.

Avon Lake police say Verizon is aware of the problem. AT&T and CenturyLink customers have not reported any issues when dialing landlines.
