CLEVELAND — Tonight's the night: Will someone hit the jackpot? Friday's Mega Millions jackpot is a whopping $1 billion, and it could get even bigger.
Tonight's drawing is the third-largest in U.S. history, but the odds are not necessarily in your favor. You have a one in 302 million chance of hitting all six numbers and taking home the jackpot.
If you did get lucky, the cash option prize would amount to $739.6 million, before taxes, according to lottery officials.
No one has won the Mega Millions jackpot since mid-September, making it the longest period of time passed since having a winner. If someone wins Friday night, the jackpot will go back down to its original $20 million.
The drawing will be held tonight at 11 p.m.
