LORAIN, Ohio — We have a big lottery winner in Northeast Ohio as Mary Caudill of Lorain recently hit the top prize worth $2 million on the Maximum Millions scratch-off ticket.
The Ohio Lottery says Caudill won the annuity prize of $80,000 a year for 25 years, which totals $2 million.
She chose to take the cash option of $1 million, and will bring home $720,000 after mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent.

“Mary says she plans to use her winnings to buy a house and her kids a car,” according to a press release from the Ohio Lottery.
Caudill purchased the winning ticket at the Exxon at 5411 Pearl Ave. in Lorain.
Maximum Millions is a $20 scratch-off, which still has the following prizes left in the game as of Aug. 15:
- $2 million prize ($80,000 annually for 25 years): 2 remaining
- $50,000 prize: 6 remaining
- $10,000 prize: 10 remaining
- $1,000 prize: 54 remaining
- $500 prize: 7,156 remaining
- $100 prize: 72,191 remaining
- $50 prize: 81,346 remaining
- $30 prize: 83,558 remaining
- $25 prize: 290,254 remaining
The Ohio Lottery says the overall odds of winning any prize in the Maximum Millions game are 1 in 3.39.
