YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — One very lucky lottery player in Youngstown has just won a prize worth $500,000 after playing a scratch-off game. 

The Ohio Lottery announced the big win on Thursday, saying it was the top prize in the $500,000 Extra Play game.

The winner, who has not been publicly identified, purchased the winning ticket from the BP at 2069 East Midlothian Road in Youngstown. 

The lottery winner will take home approximately $360,000 after federal and state tax withholdings. 

$500,000 Extra Play is a $10 scratch-off ticket that features a variety of prizes ranging from $500,000 down to $10. The overall odds of winning something in the game are listed at 1 in 4.07. 

The odds of winning that top prize? One in 600,000! 

As of April 11, the Ohio Lottery has eight of the top prizes remaining as well as other prizes, which are listed below: 

  • $10 prize: 569,302 remaining
  • $20 prize: 625,285 remaining 
  • $50 prize: 113,530 remaining 
  • $100 prize: 75,358 winners 
  • $250 prize: 11,332 remaining
  • $500 prize: 3,110 remaining 
  • $2,500 prize: 153 remaining 
  • $10,000 prize: 21 remaining 
  • $20,000 prize: 20  remaining 
  • $500,000 prize: 8 remaining
