Macedonia GetGo gets $100K bonus for selling jackpot-winning Powerball ticket worth $252.6 million, makes donation to workers and Akron food bank

The Macedonia GetGo will also be giving away a free order of tater tots to all guests who visit their location all weekend long.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Jackpot!

After selling a winning Powerball ticket that hit Wednesday night's jackpot worth $252.6 million, the GetGo at 265 East Highland Road in Macedonia has been rewarded by the Ohio Lottery with a $100,000 bonus check.

During the brief check presentation at the Summit County gas station Friday morning, an official with GetGo announced they would be sharing the proceeds with team members who work at the Macedonia store.

GetGo also revealed they would be making a donation to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

“At a time, which so many people are losing their pandemic-related SNAP benefits, the lines continue to grow at our soup kitchens and homeless shelters and food pantries," said Dan Flowers, the President and CEO of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. "This is a very important time for us, so we’ll certainly put this to good use.”

But that's not all...

To celebrate the winning Powerball ticket, the Macedonia GetGo will also be giving away a free order of tater tots to all guests who visit their location this weekend.

You can watch the full check presentation in the video below.

The Ohio Lottery says the winning ticket from Summit County was an auto-pick that matched all of the numbers in the drawing held April 19, which were: 4, 11, 21, 38, 64 and Powerball 11. The Power Play option was 3x.

If the winner choses the cash option, they'll be taking home $134.669 million.

The jackpot now returns to its starting point of $20 million for the next Powerball drawing, which is set for Saturday, April 22 at 10:59 p.m. That prize has a cash option worth $10.7 million.

Powerball lottery officials say the odds of hitting the jackpot are one in 292,201,338.00, which is slightly better than the Mega Millions odds of one in 302,575,350. The odds of hitting a $1 million winning ticket in Powerball, meanwhile, are one in 11,688,053.52.

This big win comes just one day after one lucky Mega Millions ticket sold at a Circle K in Berea hit a $1 million prize.
