WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Police confiscated marshmallow treats potentially laced with marijuana from a Northern Career Institute student after he posted about them to social media.
According to a police report, the Mayfield City School District alerted Northern Career Institute faculty about a 16-year-old student who made a suspicious Snapchat post over the weekend. The teen is a Mayfield student who attends Northern Career Institute.
The report states that the boy's post said he was making marijuana-laced marshmallow rice treats that he would sell for $10.
A school administrator pulled the boy from class Monday to ask him about the post. The boy reportedly admitted to having the treats with him.
School staff contacted the boy's parents. The school plans to discipline him in the coming days, the report states.
Willoughby police seized the treats and sent them to a lab to be processed. Charges are pending lab results.
