WASHINGTON, USA — More than half a billion dollars will be on the line for Wednesday's Powerball drawing after no one hit the jackpot on Monday night.
Monday's drawing, worth an estimated $527 million, had a cash option of $254.9 million.
For Wednesday's drawing, the top prize is up to $550 million and $266 million, respectively.
But there was one lucky millionaire after the first drawing of the week. A single ticket in Michigan got all five of the white ball numbers correct, nabbing the third-largest prize possible in the drawing.
The last time someone hit the Powerball jackpot was back in July, when one very lucky lottery player in California won $1.08 billion - which was the game's third largest prize in history. Since then, there have been 23 straight Powerball drawings without a grand prize winner.
It's been a big summer for huge lottery prizes. Last month, a single winning ticket sold in Florida won the $1.58 billion Mega Millions jackpot, the largest in the game's history.
