CLEVELAND — Doing your civic duty might be a little different this primary season.

After Ohio canceled its March 17 primary election to help stop the spread of COVID-19, many have been on the edge of their seats waiting for their chance to vote. Now, Cuyahoga County is finally ready to kick off election season again.

The county announced this morning that ballots for the vote-by-mail election will begin being sent to voters today. Board of Elections Director Anthony Perlatti said he was "happy to report that the waiting is almost over."

“I know a lot of people have been checking their mailboxes for their ballots, so

"There is more good news: No postage will be required when mailing voted ballots back to the Board," he added.

Cuyahoga County will be accepting the ballots through April 25, but advise individuals to get them in sooner rather than later. If you haven’t requested a ballot yet, you can visit www.443VOTE.us to print a ballot application or to request one by mail.

Those without access to a computer can call the board at 216-443-VOTE (8683) and request a ballot application be sent to their address. You may also visit the Board of Elections at their location in downtown Cleveland (2925 Euclid Avenue) and request an application ballot, available only on weekdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
