CLEVELAND — While much of the 2023 election cycle was dominated by abortion rights and recreational marijuana, there were still dozens of school levies and bond issues on the ballot across Northeast Ohio.

3News' Education Station reporter Danielle Wiggins covered a number of these races, most of which reached their conclusion Tuesday night. Notably, North Ridgeville voters approved Issue 16, which will raise $143 million for the construction of a new high school. The measure passed by just 228 votes.
However, Lorain County also saw a result in the negative, as Avon Lake residents struck down a proposed bond measure that would have raised $140 million to build or renovate school buildings. Over in Cuyahoga County, similar races in Bedford and Shaker Heights were too close to call as of early Wednesday morning.
