Election Day 2024 in Ohio: Real-time updates as voters decide Issue 1, presidential race between Vice President Harris and former President Trump

CLEVELAND — Election day is finally here on Tuesday as Ohio voters head to the polls to decide a variety of races and issues -- including the presidential battle of Vice President Kamala Harris vs. former President Donald Trump, the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Sherrod Brown and his challenger Bernie Moreno in addition to the statewide Issue 1 and a variety of school levies.

MONDAY, NOV. 4: ELECTION DAY EVE

4:45 p.m. 3News legal analyst Stephanie Haney looks at concerns you may have if you've received mail from the Voter Participation Center. While your voting record is public in Ohio -- including your address -- how you've voted on particular issues is not.

4:30 p.m. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are making their final appeals to voters before Election Day. NBC's Brie Jackson and Alice Barr check in with the candidates.

4:15 p.m. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose reports that "more than half of Ohio’s registered Democrats (55.63%) have already voted in this election. Nearly half of Republicans (47.55%) have voted early."

LaRose adds that Republicans lead Democrats in early voting overall by about 10% (R 27.95% vs D 17.68%). Slightly more than 54% of the early votes cast came from unaffiliated voters.

"Keep in mind that D registration is disproportionately lower this year due to a largely uncompetitive statewide primary election, so some D’s have migrated to the unaffiliated column," he added.

3:42 p.m. Cuyahoga County announced that more than 62,000 residents voted early in-person this year, nearly 10,000 more than was seen during the November 2020 election. 

12:19 p.m. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose says there are more than 35,000 poll workers throughout Ohio ready for election day.

12:10 p.m. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose says nearly one-third of Ohio's registered voters have already cast a ballot in this election.
