CLEVELAND — With the Vice Presidential debate behind us, the performances by the candidates are being analyzed intensely as both major political parties look to strengthen their chances to win the White House in November,
On the October 2 edition of Ohio Has Issues with Stephanie Haney and Mike Polk Jr, we look at key moments between Senator JD Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz that may resonate with Ohio voters. Republican strategist Jordan Ohler of Swing State Strategies and Cuyahoga County Democratic Party Chair David Brock chat with Stephanie and Mike, to give their takes on what impact the VP debate may have in our state. We also share what swing-state voters told the Washington Post about their voting choices, before and after watching the debate.
Speaking of debates, it seems less and less likely that we'll see one between Senatorial candidates Sherrod Brown and Bernie Moreno. Stephanie and Mike break down why that would be so strange, with the help of Cleveland.com reporting from Jeremy Pelzer.
Plus, Statehouse News Bureau reporter Jo Ingles comes on the show again, this time to talk about new abortion data about Ohio, fallout for Moreno over his recent abortion remarks, and why Democrats in the Ohio House of Representatives what to make changes to how the Ohio Ballot Board operates. That last topic is wrapped up with Issue 1, the proposed redistricting amendment, which Stephanie breaks down to try to clear up any confusion about what will happen if it passes.
