Ronstadt took personal issue with the choice of venue, writing "since the building has my name on it, I need to say something."

"It saddens me to see the former President bring his hate show to Tucson, a town with deep Mexican-American roots and a joyful, tolerant spirit," Ronstadt continued. "I don’t just deplore his toxic politics, his hatred of women, immigrants and people of color, his criminality, dishonesty and ignorance — although there’s that."

Although Ronstadt now lives in San Francisco, she was born in and grew up in Tucson. With regards to southern Arizona, Ronstadt voiced her displeasure with the Trump administration's border policies.

"For me it comes down to this:  In Nogales and across the southern border, the Trump Administration systematically ripped apart migrant families seeking asylum. Family separation made orphans of thousands of little children and babies, and brutalized their desperate mothers and fathers. It remains a humanitarian catastrophe that Physicians for Human Rights said met the criteria for torture," Ronstadt wrote.

"There is no forgiving or forgetting the heartbreak he caused," she wrote.

Ronstadt joins a growing list of female celebrities who have spoken out, urging people to vote following Taylor Swift's endorsement on Tuesday. Among them, Phoenix local Stevie Nicks encouraged her fans to "choose the candidate that speaks to you and your beliefs."

This visit marks the second time in under a month that Trump will be speaking in Arizona. He previously visited Glendale on Aug. 23.

The Trump campaign said the event will focus on the economy and the rising cost of housing. Trump's running mate, JD Vance, came to the Valley last week to speak at an event in Mesa.

Residents can register for the event here. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Trump is expected to speak at 2 p.m.
