Altercation between waitress, patron leads to brawl at Red Lobster in Beachwood

A fight involving about 20 people led to the arrest of one woman.

An altercation between a customer and a waitress lead to a brawl involving approximately twenty people in Beachwood, Saturday. 

The incident took place at the Red Lobster on Orange Drive just before midnight. 

According to reports, 53-year-old Darlene Brown was dining at the restaurant and complained of the service. She told police that her server was rude and had physically assaulted her. 

A second waitress claims that Ms. Brown struck her with an open hand across the shoulder when she tried to intervene and stop the situation from escalating. In defense, the waitress slapped Ms. Brown in the face. 

As a result a brawl involving Browns' family members and additional employees people broke out inside the restaurant. 

Orange Village Police and Woodmere Police responded to the scene shortly after the altercation. 

At the scene, the restaurant's manager told police that Ms. Brown was unhappy with her service, became rude with the employees and caused a disturbance for the other customers.at that time, he asked her to leave which contributed the physical altercation. 

After interviewing Ms.Brown, the waitress and several witnesses, police determined that Brown was the aggressor. She was taken into custody and transported to Solon Jail. 

She was advised to not make contact with this Red Lobster in the future and faces charges of disorderly conduct, simple assault and disturbance.
