Rocket Watts scores 64 points as SPIRE Institute routs St. Edward 122-86

40 of those points came in the first half alone.

The SPIRE Institute basketball team kept rolling Saturday night, earning a most-impressive win over St. Edward 122-86.

While SPIRE earned some notoriety in November when LaMelo Ball (brother of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball) enrolled at the school and joined the team, the star of this game was senior Rocket Watts, a Detroit native who enrolled with Ball this year.

Watts scored 40 points in the first half en route to a total of 64 on the night. Needless to say, social media was buzzing.

Watts, one of the top recruits in the country, is committed to play for Tom Izzo at Michigan State next fall.
