'Roseanne' house goes up for sale in Indiana

The yellow four-bedroom home at 619 Runnymeade Ave. in Evansville is best known as the home of the Conner family from the 1980s sitcom.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — One of TV's most recognizable homes is up for sale in Indiana.

The yellow four-bedroom home at 619 Runnymeade Ave. in Evansville is best known as the home of the Conner family from the 1980s sitcom "Roseanne" and its reboot series, "The Conners."

The exterior of the home appears in the series, though the interior is completely different from what you've seen on TV.

You can see just how different in the listing photos posted when the house hit the market.

"Roseanne," which aired from 1988-1997 before returning in 2018, was created by Evansville native Matt Williams.

The two-story, 2,360-square foot home, located about a block south of the University of Evansville campus, is listed for $225,000. It was built in 1925, according to the listing.

According to WFIE-TV in Evansville, actress Roseanne Barr said in 2015 she'd buy the home, though it wasn't up for sale at the time.

The listing agent told WFIE a lot of people have reached out about the home, if only to get a peek inside.

“People wanna know what the inside looks like now since they watched the television show,” Doreen Hallenberger said. “People looked at all the interior pictures online just to know what’s going on in Evansville, and you know its important to the community.”

The house wasn't the only part of Evansville to appear in "Roseanne," which took place in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois. According to WFIE, the street sign at North Third Avenue and Delaware Street, St. Boniface Church and The Lobo Lounge at Edgar and Louisiana streets also made the show.
