Slain Twinsburg officer's K-9 partner to be retired

TWINSBURG -- If serving the community of Twinsburg was police officer Josh Miktarian's pride, then his joy was his wife Holly, 3-month-old daughter Thea, andK-9 partner Bagio.

On Monday,at the family's quiet Tallmadge home, Holly sought comfort by playing fetch with her slain husbands partner of six years.

While the young mother did not want to talk on-camera about her sudden and stunning loss, she did share family photos and this written comment:

"This will be the hardest road I have to travel. Josh was my best friend, the best husband and the most remarkable father a girl could have for the first3 months of her life."

Flags were flown at half-staff Monday at the Oakwood Village police station, where Holly is a police officer, in honor of Josh Miktarian. Oakwood's police chief remembers when the two young officers started dating.

"You'd see them together and you knew something was going on," said Chief Robert Semik."It was fun to watch --just so heartbreaking to see this."

Even in the most unlikely places, there are signs of the tragedy.Sixteen-year-old Ashley Galvin wrotea message on the back of her car. Her dad is an Oakwood Village police officer and Holly is her role model.

"Just out of respect for all the officers out there every day putting their lives on the line and respect for Holly cause I really know her well."
