AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Youth Symphony provides pre-professional educational experience for advanced music students around the area. Recently, an eighth-grade reporter from the I Promise School news team in Akron spoke to cellist Mia Fedak about her experience in the symphony, including how she got into music, why she chose the cello, and information about future performances.
The Youth Symphony is geared toward high school students, but is open to middle school students, as well. Members range from ages 13 to 18 and represent numerous schools, cities, and counties in Northeastern Ohio.
"3 Questions' can be seen on "What's New" at 4 p.m. on Fridays. The interviews are recorded at the Kaulig Media Lab at the I Promise School. The project is a partnership between Kaulig Companies, the LeBron James Family Foundation, and WKYC Studios.
