AKRON, Ohio — Savannah James was back in Northeast Ohio on Tuesday.
The wife of LeBron James held her 9th annual I PROM-ise makeover event at the Akron-Fairlawn Hilton near Summit Mall, just in time for prom season.
For 25 Akron Public School students, it was an opportunity to pick out dresses, shoes, and accessories for free to help make sure that their prom night dreams come true.
"It's an exciting feeling every year. I look forward seeing the girls, the dresses, the smiles on their faces," James told 3News' Maureen Kyle. "They're beautiful girls and should always feel that way and have a great time."
Savannah lit up when asked about her 'Wolf Pack,' a group of students from her alma mater of Buchtel High School that she has mentored since 8th grade. Some of those students took part in the I PROM-ise event.
"I can't say enough good things about them, just because of where I've seen them come from," she told Maureen. "They hold a really special place in my heart."

"There’s something about waking up on this morning every year that still gives @SavannahRB butterflies," the LeBron James Family Foundation tweeted out. "There’s a vision that many girls have for their high school prom and being able to bring that vision to reality, so that those memories are happy ones, is what excites and drives the passion for this day. 9️⃣years later another beautiful group of women are dressed and ready to impress on prom night! Woman dancing Thank you to @dillards, and many others for making this day of magic happen. #WeAreFamily #IPROMISE"
