There could be new life to the land that was once home to Geauga Lake and SeaWorld.
Pulte Group is proposing to build 321 homes and commercial and office spaces on the former sites of the attractions. It will be a mixed development, which Aurora voters approved for land in 2014.
The developer would build the homes on about 111 acres, while about 20 acres will be for commercial and office spaces.
Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin tells WKYC 112 acres would be dedicated to a public park and will be “the first of such size on the north side of the city, which would benefit many residents.”
The former sites of Geauga Lake and SeaWorld are a total of about 650 acres in both Aurora and Bainbridge Township.
The planning commission will begin reviewing the plan May 15 at the first hearing on Pulte’s proposal.
SeaWorld first closed in 2004 followed by Geauga Lake in 2007. After taking over the land where Sea World once was, Wildwater Kingdom closed in 2016.
