A teacher from Tuscarawas County was arrested Tuesday on charges of sexually abusing one of his teenage students.
According to the county sheriff's office, a member of the Uhrichsville Police Department found 33-year-old Adam Lefler in a car outside the Claymont Center with a 16-year-old. "Sexual allegations" were later made, and it was determined the teen is a student of Lefler at Newcomerstown High School.
Lefler is currently in the Tuscarawas County Jail as officials continue to look into the case. He is charged with sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Authorities say the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District is "fully cooperating with the investigation."
