WATCH | Betsy Kling catches up with 'Voice of the Indians' Tom Hamilton at Spring Training

What does Tom think about the upcoming season?

Baseball is almost here, and the Indians are set to begin Cactus League exhibition play in Arizona in a matter of days.

On Wednesday, WKYC's Betsy Kling caught up with the "Voice of the Indians" Tom Hamilton to discuss the upcoming season. One of the first things Hamilton has noticed is the amount of new faces on the team.

"It's like your first day in school, when you walked into the clubhouse and you go, 'I wish everyone had a name tag,'" he said. "There are a lot of new faces, but that also brings a different energy and a different vibe."

When asked about the players he's most excited to watch this spring, Hamilton strayed from the familiar names and instead spoke of ones like Jake Bauers, whom Hamilton says has "a chance to be a really good player." He also mentioned Leonys Martin, who saw his season cut short last year by a life-threatening bacterial infection.

"When you talk to him now and see him smiling again, this is the least of his concerns," Hamilton said. "He dodged death, and I don't think there's anybody more excited about the season then Leonys."

Betsy also asked Hamilton about Trevor Bauer, who has at times made headlines this offseason for his controversial comments.

"I guess you put up with it, as long as he's one of the best pitchers in the game," he said. "I'm glad he's not my son, because I would've yanked his Twitter account a long time ago, but I'm also the guy that said Twitter was a work of Satan and I got in trouble for that."
