CLEVELAND — This is going to make you smile. You'll probably want to reach for a tissue, too.
Cavaliers veteran Channing Frye played his final NBA game before retiring on Tuesday evening. He gave an emotional speech to fans before the game, then hit a couple of three-point shots to close out a terrific career.
If you were fortunate enough to be at the game, you also saw this heartwarming video made by Channing's wife, Lauren. The Cavs shared it on social media.
"It has been such an honor to be by your side for this wonderful career," Lauren began. "I'm forever grateful. I could never have dreamt of such a life."
The tribute features Lauren's touching words to go along with pictures of the couple and their family, along with moments from Frye's career with the Cavs.
Last month, the 35-year-old Frye revealed his plans to retire at season's end after a 13-year NBA career that began when he was selected by the New York Knicks with the No. 8 pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. Frye was acquired by Cleveland in a three-way trade with the Magic and Blazers at the 2016 NBA trade deadline.
