PHOTOS: Creepy dolls and other weird and wacky stuff found washed up on Texas beaches

Researcher Jace Tunnell combs Texas beaches as part of his job and shares his weird and wacky finds.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Beachcombing for seashells, sea glass and sand dollars is a popular hobby on the Texas coast. But Jace Tunnell is more interested in the weird stuff that washes up on area beaches.

Tunnell is the director of community engagement for the Harte Research Institute of Gulf of Mexico Studies with Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He gets paid to comb Texas beaches and share his finds with followers.

They include interesting -- and sometimes dangerous -- creatures like the fireworm we told you about last week. Tunnell spotted the fireworm recently attached to a log on Mustang Island. In his weekly YouTube video, he said they're "some of the gnarliest looking creatures in the ocean."

“Your worst nightmares are washing up right now in the form of fireworms!” warned the Facebook post from the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

This week, we're sharing photos of some of the weirdly wonderful and harmless stuff Tunnell has turned up this month. Harmless, that is, unless creepy dolls and headless Barbies give you nightmares!
