Police in Southeast Ohio have arrested a woman for breaking into a home, although the circumstances regarding the incident are rather odd, to say the least.
According to the Vinton County Sheriff's Office, Cheyenne Ewing entered a home in the village of Hamden through the back door before sitting down on the couch and beginning to pet the family dog. She then proceeded to wash the dishes before leaving.
Residents inside the home told authorities they did not know Ewing and did not invite her inside. Deputies then received a call about a woman matching Ewing's description knocking on the door of another home in the area and subsequently arrested her. She allegedly gave officers a false identity and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Ewing has been charged with burglary. She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
