AKRON, Ohio — Police have issued a murder warrant for a suspect wanted in the shooting of an Akron woman on the city's southwest side Thursday.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. on Silvercrest Avenue. Police say the victim, 44-year-old Nickole S. Coleman, was riding as a passenger in a vehicle when she was shot several times.
According to police, Coleman and another witness drove to the suspect's home to pick him up. When the suspect climbed into the car's backseat, police say he shot Coleman several times.
Police on Friday identified the suspect as 42-year-old Coley Richardson. They say he is 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, and is considered armed and dangerous.
Coleman later died at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. The Summit County Medical Examiner has ruled her cause of death as gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
