BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Another kid from Akron is headed to the NBA.
Nineteen-year-old Chris Livingston was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 58th and final pick of the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday night in Brooklyn, New York.
After an impressive freshman year with the Kentucky Wildcats, Livingston decided to declare for the 2023 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound forward started in 26 games, averaging 6.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 22.4 minutes per game during the 2022-23 season.
Following wins against Mississippi State and Tennesee, Livingston was tabbed as Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, averaging 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and two assists per game. At the end of the season, Livingston garnered SEC All-Freshman Team honors.
During his high school career, Livingston spent his freshman season at Buchtel High School in Akron, sophomore year at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, followed by a return to Buchtel as a junior. Livingston, who ranked as the No. 10 overall player by Rivals, played for Oak Hill Academy in Virginia for his senior season.
During his junior season at Buchtel High School, Livingston averaged of 31.1 points, 15.8 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 4.7 steals and 4.0 blocks per game. He was named Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year and Max Preps Junior All-America First Team following his junior season.
