CLEVELAND — UPDATE: Sunday's Lake County Captains game has been delayed due to inclement weather. Gates will open and the 10-cent beer promotion will now begin at 1 p.m.

OTIGINAL:

10-cent Beer Night will return to a Northeast Ohio ballpark on Sunday ... sort of.

As part of a slate of promotions celebrating Cleveland Sports History Day, the Lake County Captains are running a promotion ahead of their Sunday afternoon tilt against the Great Lakes Loons that harkens back to that infamous Cleveland Indians game-turned riot 50 years ago

The Cleveland Guardians High-A affiliate's version of "10-cent Beer Night" runs for only one hour and it's not really at night, but baseball fans will be able to mark the anniversary at the kiosk in front of Castaways Bar at Classic Auto Group Park from 1-2 p.m.

The original 10-cent Beer Night was devised as a promotion for the perpetually lousy Cleveland Indians on June 4, 1974. That game began with a handful of fans tipsy on cheap beer running across the outfield grass at Cleveland Municipal Stadium — some of them naked — and collapsed into chaos.

10-cent Beer Night is not the only moment in Cleveland sports lore that's being honored on Sunday. Here's the full list of promotions for Sunday afternoon's Cleveland Sports History Day game, courtesy of the Lake County Captains:
