The long-awaited ESPN 30 for 30 documentary “Believeland” has a premiere date.
“Believeland” will premiere as part of the Cleveland International Film Festival at 7 p.m. on March 31st at the Connor Palace at Playhouse Square.
“Believeland” chronicles Cleveland’s quest for a sports championship, a drought that has lasted 52 years.
Despite the Cavaliers making runs to the NBA Finals in 2007 and 2015 and the Indians appearing in the World Series in 1954, 1995 and 1997, Cleveland has gone without a sports championship since 1964, when the Browns upset the heavily favored Baltimore Colts, 24-0, to win the NFL title.
Tickets for the premiere of “Believeland” are $16 each, or $14 for members of the Cleveland International Film Festival, and go on sale to the public on Friday, March 18.
