CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced their roster for the NBA Summer League.
Lottery pick Collin Sexton headlines the roster along with current Cavaliers center Ante Zizic, guard John Holland, small forward Cedi Osman and fellow forward Okaro White.
Additionally, the Cavaliers will have forward Jamel Artis (Orlando Magic), Brayon Blake (Idaho), Vladimir Brodziansky (Texas Christian University) and Billy Preston (Kansas), as well as guards Dakota Mathias (Purdue), Scoochie Smith (Dayton) and Jordan Stevens (Midwestern State) and center Marcus Lee (California) on the roster.
Cavaliers assistant coach James Posey will serve as the team’s head coach in the NBA Summer League.
The Cavaliers will open NBA Summer League play against the Washington on Friday night, July 6, at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas before shifting to the Thomas and Mack Center for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bulls.
The Cavaliers will finish preliminary-round action against the Indiana Pacers at the Cox Pavilion on Monday, July 9.
After round-robin play is completed, the first round of the tournament will be conducted on July 11 and 12 with the second round happening on July 12 and 14. The Consolation Round will be held on July 13, while the quarterfinals, semifinals and NBA Summer League Championship will be held on July 15, 16 and 17, respectively.
The Cavaliers selected Sexton out of the University of Alabama with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft last month.
Sexton averaged 19.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.8 steals over 29.9 minutes per game for an Alabama team that went to the semifinals of the 2018 Southeastern Conference Tournament and went two rounds deep in the NCAA Tournament before bowing out against the eventual National Champion Villanova Wildcats.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Sexton shot 44.7 percent from the field, 49.5 percent from inside the three-point arc and 77.8 percent at the free-throw line.
In 61 games for the Cavaliers this past season, the 6-foot-8, 215-pound Osman averaged 3.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.4 steals. Osman shot 48.4 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three-point range.
Acquired in a trade with the Boston Celtics for NBA All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, the 6-foot-11, 254-pound Zizic averaged 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 73.1 percent from the field and 72.4 percent from the free-throw line in 32 games for the Cavaliers during the 2017-2018 season.
