New Mount Union football coach Geoff Dartt goes one-on-one with Jim Donovan

Dartt is a Port Clinton native who played for the Purple Raiders and served as an assistant coach at Mount Union for the last seven seasons.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union has a new head football coach. Geoff Dartt has been named the 24th head coach in school history.

Dartt has spent the the last seven years as an assistant coach for the Purple Raiders and five of those years as offensive coordinator.

He is a native of Port Clinton, Ohio and was a three-year letter winner as an offensive lineman at Mount Union. He played on three national championship teams (2002, 2005, 2006) and was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection in 2007.

Jim Donovan interviewed Dartt and asked him about taking over a powerhouse program and what it’s been like dealing with COVID-19.

Dartt was open and candid, sharing how the program has been dealing with the logistics of not practicing in person.
