CLEVELAND — Allegations of drug use involving members of the Cleveland State's men's swimming and diving program has led to the resignation of the team's coach and two of CSU's senior athletic department officials.
In addition, members of the swim team who violated team rules were 'disciplined in accordance with university policy.'
According to a release from the university, the allegations were brought to the administration's attention in early February and prompted an internal review. When the investigation discovered the allegations had merit, CSU says they acted promptly to address them.
Head Coach Paul Graham resigned immediately, while two senior athletic department officials stepped down after the internal review.
"We have begun a thorough review of our policies and intend to reinforce full compliance with these policies. We will not compromise on our commitment to upholding the utmost integrity in our athletics program and the well-being of our student athletes," Cleveland State said in the release.
